Hello ALOOG. I'm really glad something like this exists. I have always loved sim racing, and have started to get a bit more serious with it in the past few months. I've always liked playing games online, shooters, RTS, MMO, etc. But I've never been able to find an online racing experience that wasn't ruined by lag or wrecker kiddies. So my love for sim racing kind of fell by the wayside for a few years until... well actually it was Dirt: RALLY Early Access that got me started. I gave up on consoles a few years ago, so Forza and GT were out (disappointing games anyway). So I ended up buying Assetto Corsa for my road sim and DR for my rally sim. I played them both with KB+M for awhile until I bought a Steam Controller out of curiosity. Once I got used to that thing, it was a great driving controller. So I used that for a few months while I saved for a wheel. I was going to get a G27, but they got discontinued over the winter and prices on them doubled. When spring rolled around, the G920 had a -$100 sale (including H stick) so I jumped on it. Very happy with it for a beginner wheel... maybe someday I'll spend the $1200-1500 on a Fanatec setup. For now I have the wheel, and I'm running DashMeterPro on my old Galaxy S4 with the cracked screen and I love it. Working on installing Helicorsa thanks to the forums so far, but if there are other apps or mods I should be using, I'd love to hear suggestions.
Since I got my wheel, I've basically given up everything but racing games. For awhile I was stuck on DR, but ever since I discovered how good Assetto Corsa is online, I haven't touched DR. I was under the impression that I wouldn't find a decent, clean racing experience until I was ready to sign up for iRacing. The ALOOG GT2 - Spa server has been my favorite so far. I'm still learning most of the tracks, but I hope to get involved in some organized races at some point when I'm more familiar with them. I always always try to drive clean and respectfully, I've read the minorating rules/etiquette and I do my best to respect them. Thank you for finally giving me a home, ALOOG :*)
